BUHR, Leslie April 22, 1932 to September 7, 2016 & BUHR, Marilyn Joyce (nee Jeffery) March 1, 1932 to March 13, 2018 Our parents and grandparents, Leslie and Joyce are together again. They were raised miles apart: Leslie on a farm in Waldheim, Saskatchewan (near Saskatoon) and Joyce in Pleasant Lake, Nova Scotia (near Yarmouth). They met at the Air Force base in St. Hubert, Quebec where Leslie was a pilot and Joyce a teacher. Although they spent most of their working days in Winnipeg, Dad’s job as a pilot took them to Matane, Quebec, Wakefield, Massachusetts and Kansas City, Kansas. During their time in Winnipeg they bought rental property and did renovations and managed the property together. After retirement in 1988 Leslie and Joyce lived in Beaconia, Manitoba and then Boissevain, Manitoba and wintered in Florida where they enjoyed their time dancing and golfing. In 2005 they moved to Abbotsford, BC where they remained until their passing. Leslie and Joyce are survived by their four children, Nola (James), Ross, John (Karen) and Garth (Eileen) and four grandchildren, Hannah, Aimee, Kate and Elizabeth. A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Lake Baptist Church in Pleasant Lake, Nova Scotia on Wednesday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Highland Plains Cemetery in Pleasant Lake. Donations in memory may be made to the Highland Plains Cemetery.
