M. Muriel Doucette

DOUCETTE, M. Muriel – Amirault’s Hill DOUCETTE, M. Muriel, age 90, Amirault’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 with her family at her side. Born October 24, 1929 in Amirault’s Hill, she was a daughter of the late Mandé and Celeste (Saulnier) Landry. Muriel was a caregiver, having also worked at Cosmos Imperial Mills in Yarmouth. She was a member of the Indian Sluice Seniors and she loved quilting and making puzzles. She is survived by her children, John (Myla) Doucette, Amirault’s Hill and Susan (Ken) d’Eon, Pubnico, along with grandchildren, Eric and Ryan. She is also survived by a brother, Eric (Theresa) Landry, Toronto, ON; sisters, Ismay (Paul) Hogan, Mass., Amanda Blinn, Belliveau Cove and a sister-in-law, Theresa Landry. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest H. Doucette; sons, Gregory and Clifton as well as a daughter, Susan; brothers, Jobie Landry and Gérard Landry; sisters, Jeanne Bourque and Ella Jollimore. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 23 from Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Donations in Muriel’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Holy Family Cemetery.
