Madelyn Doucette (Mccumber)
DOUCETTE (McCumber), Madelyn Agnes – age 74, of Yarmouth N.S., passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Yarmouth on January 10, 1944, she was the daughter of Sadie (Boudreau) McCumber and the late Don McCumber. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Madelyn is survived by her husband Martin Doucette, son Dean Doucette, daughter-in-law Christine D’Lima-Doucette, daughter Heather (Doucette) Gallagher, son-in-law Devin Gallagher, and grandchildren Jesse Gallagher, Elise Doucette and Chloe Doucette. Also survived by brothers, Donnie and Wayne McCumber of Yarmouth. She will be remembered as a great cook who loved to be with her family, and enjoyed bowling and camping. Funeral mass was held at St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Father Pat O’Meara officiated. By Madelyn’s request there was no visitations. Interment followed at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery and a reception followed at St. Ambrose Jubilee Room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund or the Milton Improvement Society.
