Margaret "Maggie" Nickerson
NICKERSON, Margaret Madeline “Maggie” – age 101, Little River Harbour, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born August 15, 1916 in Little River Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Annie May Harris. Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed being with and caring for family; she also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Left to mourn are her three daughters, Mary Joensen, Carolyn Landry (Chris Jacquard) and Brenda (Ronnie) LeBlanc; son-in-law Kelly Brannen, as well as 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sr. Mary Augusta (Alice), Yvonne Lopes, Helen (Charles) Wyman; brothers, Bernie Harris, Douglas Harris and Oscar Harris. She was predeceased by her husband, Delmar Nickerson, as well as by daughters, Ruth Ann Wyman and Laurel Brannen; a son, Laurie Nickerson; sons-in-law, Tony, Helgi and Clive and an infant great granddaughter. There was no visitation by request. A Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Melbourne on Friday, May 11 at 1 p.m., Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Comeau’s Hill. Donations in memory of Maggie may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or to the St. Gabriel Cemetery Fund.
