Margaret Newell — Dayton

Margaret Newell
NEWELL, Margaret Julia - Age 98 of Plymouth. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother and mother-in-law on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 at Villa St. Joseph du Lac. She was the daughter of the late Morris and Josephine Cottreau, Wedgeport. Margaret lived a full life. She was very active through out her life, making quilts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and cooking. She loved playing cards with the women on Mondays and with her sons and daughter-in-law on Sunday evening. She proudly told stories about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very generous person and never complained about anything life threw her way. Margaret is survived by her four sons, John (Donna); Bill (Gaylon); Mel (Norma); Wayne (Doreen); sister, Jane Brown; sister-in-law, Rosie Cottreau; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred John Newell; brothers, Lawrence, Louie, Austin, and Eddie; sisters, Marie, Mathilda, and Ann; grandson, Andy. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A visitation was held in Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Wedgeport from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, Father Pat O'Meara officiated. Family flowers only. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Saint Michael's Catholic Church or cemetery funds or to a charity of one’s choice. A special thanks to the staff of Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac for their wonderful care and support; we couldn't have asked for anything better. She will be greatly missed.
