BOWER, Marguerite Luella – age 86, of Yarmouth, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at her home. Born August 1, 1931 in Lower Ohio, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert Augustus and Alie Mae (Churchill) Bower. Marguerite was a member of Beacon United Church and aside from precious time spent with her grandchildren, she enjoyed knitting, line dancing, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, flower gardening and spending time at the cottage in Shelburne. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 67 years, James B. Bower, as well as by their children, James (Ruth) Bower, Hammonds Plains; Darrell (Rowena) Bower, Warman, SK and John (Karen) Bower, Yarmouth along with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a special nephew, William “Billy”, who was raised with the family after the untimely death of his mother, Catherine. Aside from her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by sisters, Catherine, Shirley, Beulah and Roberta as well as by brothers, John “Jack”, Stanley and Robert. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lower Ohio Cemetery. Memorial donations in Marguerite’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
