Norma Jessie Brittain

BRITTAIN, Norma Jessie age 99, of The Meadows Home for Special Care and formerly of Wellington Yarmouth Co, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2019. Born in South Ohio on April 7, 1920 she was a daughter to the late Elmer and Augusta (Goodwin) Cann. In her younger years Norma taught school in the Weymouth area and then owned and operated a small country store in Wellington, Yarmouth Co. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her family and enjoyed flower gardening. She is survived by her daughter Ellen (Gary) Titus, Brooklyn; and half brother, Phillip Pinkney, Truro as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Brittain; brother, John; half brothers, David Pinkney and Arthur Pinkney; sisters, Alma Trask and June Ryerson; and half sister, Sally Kempton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will take Sunday December 8, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. Rev. Newell will be officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Hebron. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
