Rebecca Crosby

Rebecca Crosby
CROSBY, Rebecca Mariam (85) - Yarmouth, N.S. Though we are heavy of heart, we are grateful to the Lord for the life of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Becky. Becky was called to heaven on February 12, 2019. A faithful Christian, devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, friend to everyone she met, and a heart for generosity and giving to those in need, Becky was our example of living out your faith, taking care of your family, working hard, and putting others first. Becky met so many people in her years working at The London Café, The Lobster House, Dayton Fruit and Vegetable, Harris' Quick and Tasty, and especially loved her final working years serving those with special needs at YACRO. She enjoyed talking to everyone she met, and was known for her beautiful voice, singing for countless weddings and funerals. Becky was born in Yarmouth, N.S. to Judson and Ivy Skinner on May 30, 1933. She will be forever missed by her family: husband St. Clair, sister Eleanor (Stanley) Jones, Pentiction, B.C., children, Rebecca Anthony, Burton Forbes, Allan Forbes, Larry (Joan) Forbes, Seretha (Michael) White, Scott (Rose) Forbes, Rachael (Yvon) Ouellette all of Yarmouth, and multiple nieces and nephews. Nan enjoyed every moment spent with her 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary (Leslie) Morash, Lockeport N.S.; Iva (Al) Widen, Smithers, B.C; Dorothy (Thomas) Humble, Calgary, AB.; and Sidney (Evelyn) Skinner, Abbotsford, B.C. Thank you to Dr. T. Green, Dr. J. Chandler, Dr. M. Riley, Rev. Nathan and Mandy Hill, the staff of the 3rd and 4th floors of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, the staff of Roseway Manor, Shelburne, and the staff of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation was from 7p.m. - 9.p.m., Friday, February 15th from Evangel Assembly Church, 1 Myrtle Street, Yarmouth. Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 16th, at 2 p.m. also from Evangel Assembly, Rev. Nathan Hill officiated. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. On-line condolences may be sent to: [email protected] or you may sign the guestbook on-line at: www.sweenysfuneralhome.net Proverbs 31 captures her life and legacy: "Who can find a woman of noble character? She is worth far more than rubies; She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy; She is clothed with strength and dignity; She speaks with wisdom and kindness; She watches over the affairs of her household; Her children rise up and call her blessed; Many women do noble things but you excel; A woman that honours the Lord shall be praised."
