Ruth Shirley Pinner

PINNER, Ruth Shirley Ruth Shirley Pinner, 94, Arcadia passed away peacefully at her home on August 17, 2019. Born in Arcadia, March 29,1925, she was a daughter to the late Jack and Elizabeth (Renef) Lambert. Mrs. P was a much-loved lady with more talents than she ever realized. Letter writing and her ability to connect and stay engaged with people of all ages and walks of life, right up until the day she died, were just two of many. Those of us who loved her, will miss her and hold our cherished memories close to our hearts. Knowing that she was able to fulfill her last wish and die in the home that she loved, will comfort us as we move forward. Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend to all. We will remember her laughter, her quick wit and sense of humor and her dedication and strong work ethic as the lady who retired her rags and scrub bucket at the age of 82 years young. There will never be another like her. We are all richer for having been fortunate enough to have had her, as a part of our lives! She is survived by daughters, Bonnie (David) Fraser, Cheggogin; Ruth Harrington, Chebogue; sons, Donald (Dot) Pinner, Arcadia; Ralph (Mary) Pinner, Tusket; Robert (Norma) Pinner, Port Maitland; sister, Bertha Deveau, Yarmouth; 19 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her husband Eric; son Sonny; daughter Doris; sisters Myrtle Dunn and Dot Purdy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2019, from 7-9 p.m. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 20,2019, at 2 p.m., also in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Robert Gates officiating. Interment to take place in the Arcadia Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
