Stephen Thibedeau — Yarmouth

Stephen Thibedeau
THIBEDEAU, Stephen Norman - age 72, passed away at home on May 5, 2019. He was born June 5, 1946 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to the late Stephen Thibedeau and Helen (Trask). Stephen’s love for music and arts developed at a young age having sung in local music festivals and theatre plays. The Yarmouth County Museum acknowledged his comprehensive sea-faring W.R. MacAskill photographs. These were put on display as he wanted to share in this enjoyment with the public. Anyone who visited him in Toronto was the recipient of a generous visit to the theatre and the latest musical. He had positions with the CNIB and Bolton Tremblay Inc in Montreal where he worked as the Chief Fund Accountant in 1971. In 1981 when Trimark opened its doors in Toronto, Stephen was appointed as accountant. He was one of five founding members and a pivotal part of the company’s growth. The rest of his career was with the company until retirement. Trimark founder Arthur Labatt wrote in his book, “Stephen was from the Maritimes and didn’t speak a word of French. He told me that with his surname he was okay in Montreal until he opened his mouth.” Stephen is survived by his sister, Margaret Fearon; brothers, Herbert (Deb MacLeod) and Gary (Karen Atkins); several nephews and niece, Hunter Fearon, Chris (Susan Savriga), Hannah (Trevor Alkins), Stephen and Mark, grand nieces and nephew, Evangeline, Colin and Stella. Lasting friendships, Alan Boudreau and Gordon Tomlinson. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Yarmouth, where you can leave messages of condolence for the family or sign the online guestbook by visiting their website at www.huskilson.net
