LAKE DOUCETTE, N.S. — The engines have started for another season of racing at the Lake Doucette Motor Speedway.
The 2019 season got underway on Sunday, June 9.
While not everyone was completely ready for opening day, it was still a great turnout.
The ladies started things off with a bang slamming into the tires and rolling 2 cars. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
The men’s 4 cylinder class saw over 17 cars competing with 14 starting the feature race, over half of which were rookies.
The sportsman division saw nine nice looking cars hit the track, although two of them lost some of the shimmer of their paint jobs when they hit each other in turn one.
Despite the wet weather that’s been experienced in the spring, the sun was shining and the stands were full of fans – so overall a good start to a new season.
The next race day is Sunday, June 23. Races get underway at 1 p.m.
