The Yarmouth Abuptic Lobster Bantam AA Gateways captured the 2014 Provincial title this past weekend in Shelburne.

Yarmouth defeated the host team Shelburne 9-6 in the championship game. Dylan Spinney, who was the game MVP, lead the offence with three singles and pitched the 6th and 7th to close the game. Winning pitcher was Cory Newell.

Sebastian Mullen had triple, single with two RBIs. Dylan d'Entremont had a double, single with two RBIs and Jack Sabine had two singles.

The tournament MVP was Sebastian Mullen and the top hitter was Dylan d'Entremont.

In Game #1 Yarmouth lost to Shelburne 7-6. Game MVP was Miguel Surette with a double, single and two RBIs.  Corry Newell and Jacob Symonds each had pair of singles.

In Game #2 Yarmouth pounded 18 hits and defeated Truro 21-5 in 4 innings.  Game MVP was Brayden Moses with a double, single and three RBIs.

Dylan Spinney had three singles. Jacob Symonds was the winning pitcher and had a double and two singles. Sebastian Mullen had a triple, two singles and three RBIs.

In Game #3 Yarmouth squeaked by Sydney 10-9 in extra innings. Game MVP Cory Newell hit a two-run single in the bottom of the 8th to win the game.  Matthew Barron was the winning pitcher. Jacob Symonds and Jack Sabine each had a pair of singles.

In Game #4 Yarmouth defeated Halifax 14-3 to advance to the championship game. Game MVP was Jack Sabine who pitched a complete game and also added three singles.

Sebastian Mullen had three doubles and four RBIs. Dylan d'Entremont had two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Cory Newell had two doubles, a single and two RBIs.

The Yarmouth Abuptic Lobster Bantam AA Gateways will host the Atlantic Championship Tournament on Sept 12-14 at Mariners Field in Yarmouth.

 

This was a successful Labour Day weekend at provincials for Yarmouth teams.
