Bedford, who had finished fourth in the April 7-9 round robin, defeated Cape Breton 3-1 in the April 10 final. Cape Breton had finished second in the round robin.

Earlier in the day the Blues had upset the Sackville Flyers 3-1 in the semi-finals. The Flyers had finished the round robin in first place. Cape Breton defeated South Shore 3-1 in the other semi-final.

The host Yarmouth Mariners – made up of players from Yarmouth and Shelburne counties, as well as Clare – had a win, a tie and two losses in the tournament. Yarmouth tied Western Valley 2-2, lost to Bedford 3-1 and defeated Sackville 5-4. In their final round robin game, with both teams tied for points and looking to advance to the semi-final, Yarmouth was edged out by South Shore 3-1, with the Ice Sharks last goal coming on Yarmouth’s empty net. A win or a tie would have advanced the Mariners to the semi-finals.

Two Yarmouth Mariners players received tournament awards. Forward Jude Greenwood of Shelburne County was named an all-star forward and defenseman Max Nickerson of Yarmouth received the tournament’s Most Sportsmanlike Award.
