YARMOUTH, N.S. — The GPK Refrigeration Peewee A Mariners defeated the Sackville Flyers 5-0 to claim the Hockey Nova Scotia Southern Conference Championship on Saturday, March 30, in Yarmouth.

The Mariners came out strong, with Connor Pothier (unassisted) and Drew Muise (Alyre Richardson, Cameron Perry) both scoring within the first 30 seconds of the game. Blake Newell netted the next two goals, with assists coming from Connor Pothier, Lucas Cottreau and Bryce Fitzgerald.

The third period saw Drew Muise score his second goal of the game, with an assist from Ben Lyons.

Brady Saulnier stopped all shots to secure his third shutout in the last four games.

With this win, the GPK Refrigeration Mariners will play for the Peewee A Hockey Nova Scotia Provincial Championship weekend in Truro on April 13 against the Northern Conference Champions Pictou County Crushers.
