YARMOUTH, N.S. – On what would have been Jadon Robinson's 20th birthday, 20 teams took to Main Street in Yarmouth on Saturday, Sept. 29, to participate in the JStrong Cup.

The street hockey tournament is organized by the JStrong Fund. The fund was started in memory of Jadon Robinson following his death at the age of 17 and assists Yarmouth County athletes and teams access sports with registration costs, team sponsorships, event sponsorships, etc. 

The JStrong Fund is donating $200 to minor hockey for every youth team that registered in the event.

The JStrong Cup has been organized by the JStrong Fund with the help of the minor hockey association, and other volunteers and sponsors, including the event's title sponsor Modern Realty. The Yarmouth Mariners also took part by helping to referee games.

Main Street is closed between Collins and Cumberland Streets on Saturday while the games – that started at 8:30 a.m. run until 6 p.m. – are underway.

On Sunday, Sept. 30 the championship games take place at the outdoor arena at the Mariners Centre.

The championship games get underway at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day. The schedule is:

10:00am -Bantam - Kill Fish vs Yarmouth Warriors
10:45am -Peewee- Southwest Sticks vs the 007’s
11:30am Novice
12:00pm Atom - Bardown Boys vs Bash Brothers
12:45pm- Midget- Bandits vs Southend Snipers
1:30pm - Open- La Shoppe A Carl vs Aerial Ridge.
