YARMOUTH, N.S. – Yarmouth County Minor Hockey Association Results.


Bantam A Mariners win bronze

This past weekend Nova's Finest Fisheries Bantam A Mariners finished with a bronze medal in The Clare-Digby Fall Face-Off Tournament.

Scoring for the Mariners during the tournament were Chase Perry with three goals, Luke MacLeay with two goals and Dalton Sears, Riley Hubbard, Drew Goreham, Simon d'Entremont, Tyler MacLeod, Carson d'Eon and Chandler LeBlanc scoring one each.

Assists during the tournament came from Drew Goreham, Tyler MacLeod, Riley Hubbard and Chandler LeBlanc, each with two. Dylan Hatfield, Nolan Saulnier, Chase Perry, Isaac Richardson, Luke MacLeay, and Dalton Sears, each had one assist. In net with two games each where, Braden Hipson and Tayvon Gabriel.

MVP's for tournament were Luke MacLeay, Braden Hipson, Tyler MacLeod and Dylan Hatfield. A skills competition was held with Chandler LeBlanc winning the shoot-out challenge.


Midget C plays first league game

The Graham Construction Ltd Midget C (Reigh's) Mariners played the Chester Ravens in their first league game, falling 7-1 to Chester.

Scoring for the Mariners was Dawson Dulong assisted by Hunter Muise.

In nets were Liam Campbell and Logan Leaman.


Solid road trip for peewee AAA

The Chris Scott Construction Mariners picked up 5 of a possible 6 points in Peewee AAA action this past weekend.
​ Yarmouth opened their road trip on Oct. 27 by dumping the Truro Bearcats 7-3. Sam Hope and Jared Pitman paced the attack with a pair of goals each, while Jessica Mackinnon, Dominic Jacquard and Sawyer Longmire added single markers. Dominic Cottreau made 17 saves in goal for the win.
​ Later it was another good effort by the visiting Mariners, as they picked up their second win of the day edging the hard working Antigonish Bulldogs 5-2. Jared Pitman led the way with two goals, with one each from Dakota Ryer, Jessica Mackinnon and Cameron Barnes. Cohen Stoddard picked up the victory between the pipes with 19 saves.
​ The rematch on Oct. 28 saw the Bulldogs and Mariners battle to an entertaining 5-5 tie. Jessica Mackinnon tied the game with only 45 seconds remaining to earn the visitors a hard-earned point. Jordan Apostolofski, Sammy Cochrane, Jared Pitman and Sam Hope also found the twine for the Yarmouth squad. Russell Pinksen and Max Darcy picked up assists.
​ This evens the Mariners record to 2-2-1 in NSMHL action, and to 8-4-2 overall. Up next the team will continue league action when they host the Cumberland County Ramblers on Nov.10 and 11 at the Mariner's Centre. Game times are Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m.


Peewee A on the road

The GPK Refrigeration Peewee A Mariners traveled to the Bridgetown Arena on Saturday, Oct. 27 for their second league game of the season against the Western Valley Spartans, which they tied 3-3.

Goal scorers for the Mariners were Connor Pother, Damien Cottreau and Lucas Cottreau. Assists went to Blake Newell, Lucas Cottreau, Drew Muise and Alyre Richardson.

The Mariner’s then travelled to Kentville Arena on Sunday, Oct. 28 to play against the Acadia Axemen. The Mariners came away with the 7-6 win. Cameron Perry scored five goals, with Damien Cottreau and Drew Muise adding one goal each. Ashton Samms assisted on five of the goals, with Boston Aldred assisting on two. Bryce Fitzgerald, Ben Lyons, Keaton Muise, Alyre Richardson and Drew Muise each had one assist.


Exhibition win for peewee B

The Charlesville Fisheries Peewee B Mariners travelled to Barrington for an exhibition game on Oct. 27 against the Queens County Cougars, defeating them 6-5.

In net for the Mariners was Miguel Surette. Scoring for the Mariners were Liam Surette, Maddox D’Entremont, Blake Fish, Cohen Warner, Jack D’Entremont, and Caleum Hines. Assists came from Cohen Warner, Blake Fish, Maddox D’Entremont, Charlie Gosling and Jack D’Entremont.


Atom AA Mariners drop two

The Yarmouth Sweeney’s Funeral Home Atom AA Mariners played two games Oct. 27 at the LCLC in Bridgewater against the Pictou County Crushers.

In game 1, the Mariners lost 3-1. Scoring for the Mariners was Marcel Jacquard, assisted by Sawyer Kristensen and Max Gates.

The Mariners suffered another loss in game 2 by a score of 5-2. The two goals were scored by Sawyer Kristensen with assist from Lucas Cameron, Ryder Pinksen, Declan and Cullen Fitzgerald. In the net for both games was Noah Muise.


Bantam B Mariners fall twice to Acadia

This Past weekend the Sea-Ya Fisheries Bantam B Mariners took on the Acadia Axemen in back to back games. Game 1 saw the Mariners with a short bench lose 6-1. Scoring their only goal was Wyatt Nickerson with assists from Blake Lyons and Daniel Kenney.

The teams were pretty much at even strength when the Sea-Ya Fisheries Mariners took to the ice for Game 2. It was a close 5-4 game for the Axemen. Scoring were Jesse Amiro with 2 goals with an assist from Isaac Tunnicliff; Blake Lyons with an assist from Wyatt Nickerson and Landon Watkins scored the 4th goal assisted by Isaac Tunnicliff.

Friday Evening the Sea-Ya Fisheries Mariners take on Queens County in Liverpool.
