The training camp begins with a registration, meet and greet and barbecue for players on Thursday, Aug. 25. Players will then hit the ice Friday, Aug. 26 with Team Blue taking to the ice from 6-7 p.m. and Team Grey hitting the ice from 7:15-8:15 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday both see morning ice sessions for the two teams, from 9-10 a.m. and 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. There will also be intersquad games both nights, with an Aug. 27 game at 7 p.m. and an Aug. 28 game at 5 p.m.

As part of the training camp, the Mariners will then be playing some exhibition games against the Valley Wildcats and the South Shore Lumberjacks in a very compressed schedule with four games in five days.

The first is a road game for the Mariners against the Wildcats on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Newport District Arena at 7 p.m. (This newly constructed facility replaces the one that suffered a roof collapse in Brooklyn, Hants County in 2015.)

The Mariners will be on the road again on Thursday, Sept. 1 to play the South Shore Lumberjacks at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre in Bridgewater. Gametime is 7 p.m.

The Mariners will then host a pair of home games, playing the Wildcats at the Mariners Centre on Friday, Sept. 2 and the Lumberjacks at home on Saturday, Sept. 3. The game time for both home exhibition games is 7:30 p.m.
