The latest win for the team was a 6-2 win over the South Shore Lumberjacks at the MHL Showcase in Truro on Monday, Oct. 10.
Yarmouth scored five goals in the third period, after trailing 2-1 after the first period with no scoring in the second period.
Former Mariner Alex Rawding opened the scoring for the South Shore Lumberjacks at 5:52 in the first. Yarmouth’s Noah McMillin (Ezekiel Estrada, Warner) tied the game at 13:53. At 17:13 in the first period Tristan d’Entremont of West Pubnico increased the Lumberjack’s lead to 2-1. Shots on goal were 16-7 for the Lumberjacks.
There was no scoring in the second period. Shots on goal were 13-11 in Yarmouth’s favour.
Shots on goal in the third were 20-14 for the Lumberjacks but the Mariners controlled the scoring, putting five more goals on the scoreboard.

In net for the Mariners Leif Hertz turned away 45 of 47 shots. In net for South Shore Derek Goguen stopped 28 or 34 shots.
The Mariners are at home this weekend with games against the Valley Wildcats on Friday and the Woodstock Slammers on Saturday.
The Mariners had two other wins this past weekend – a 4-3 overtime win over the Amherst Ramblers at home and a 3-0 win over the Ramblers at the MHL Showcase on Sunday.
