Host clubs for Scotties and Brier playdowns announced

SYDNEY, N.S. — The Nova Scotia provincial curling playdowns for the Scotties Tournament of Heats and Tim Hortons Brier will take place next month. 

The playdowns will be held Jan. 22-26 at the Dartmouth Curling Club. Teams taking part in the event were not announced at press time. 

Two participants have already secured their sport for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Sask.

2019 champion Chelsea Carey will represent Canada while Lori Eddy will play for Nunavut. 

For the Tim Hortons Brier, Kevin Koe, 2019 champion, will wear the Canadian colours at the tournament while Jake Higgs will represent Nunavut. 

The Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be held Feb. 15-23, while the Tim Hortons Brier is scheduled for Feb. 29 to March 8 in Kingston, Ont.
