It was sunny but cold for Thursday morning’s Boxing Day 5K – also known as the Turkey Run – in Yarmouth.

This was the 11th year for the event, which again started near Tim Hortons/Wendy’s at 10 a.m., the participants heading south on Main Street.

The course consists of nearly two loops, with the finish in the parking lot of West Nova Fuels.

The run was followed by a breakfast for participants and volunteers at the Knights of Columbus hall.

Open to runners and walkers, the event supports the Megan Corkum Athletic Fund, which helps athletes who have to travel to compete.

Times were not recorded for this year’s event.
