Former Moosehead Hischier signs seven-year extension with Devils

Former Halifax Mooseheads centre Nico Hischier agreed to a seven-year contract extension with the New Jersey Devils on Friday.

The total value of the deal is $50.75 million for an average salary of $7.25 million per season.

The 20-year-old Swiss forward had 47 points in 69 games last year. He was the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NHL draft after spending one season with the Halifax Mooseheads. Hischier had 86 points in 57 games in Halifax.
