Yarmouth high school boys win Springhill basketball tournament

Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School’s varsity boys basketball team was triumphant over the weekend at a tournament in Springhill.

In their three tournament games, the Vikings defeated Oxford, North Nova and Sommet.

The Yarmouth team’s first contest was a 93-53 win over Oxford.

Randal Fells had 15 points for Yarmouth and teammates Bryer Cunningham and Noah Wilcox each had 13. Josh Muise was player of the game for YCMHS.

Yarmouth’s next game was a 97-45 win over North Nova. Noah Wilcox – Yarmouth’s player of the game in this one – had 22 points and Randal Fells had 18.

The Vikings concluded the tournament with a 71-41 victory over Sommet. Giacomo Rossi had 17 points for Yarmouth and Zawad Rahman was the team’s player of the game.

The next scheduled game for the Viking boys is Jan. 22 against Park View.

Viking girls also win

It was a winning weekend for the YCMHS girls too, as they won a tournament in Middleton.

The YCMHS girls defeated South Colchester 55-38, Middleton 52-40 and Shelburne 55-34 to win their third tournament of the 2019-2020 season.
