The Maple Grove junior girls basketball team placed fourth at the western regionals held Feb. 27 in New Minas.
In the semifinal game the Panthers lost to a very strong host Evangeline Middle School 53-22.
Zoe Schwan was Maple Grove’s leading scorer with seven points and teammate Ellie Hiltz had four.
In the bronze-medal game, Maple Grove was defeated by another strong team, Kings County Academy, 58-40.
Leading scorers for Maple Grove in this game were Ellie Hiltz with 16 points and Zoe Schwan with 11.
The Panthers will finish out the season next Tuesday at home as they host a combined Tier 1 and 2 Yarmouth/Shelburne County championship.
