The Par-en-Bas senior boys baseball team came in second at the NSSAF division 2 provincial baseball championships held in Richmond County, losing 5-2 to Amherst in the title game.

The Par-en-Bas team’s first game of the provincial tournament was an 18-1 victory over Richmond Academy. Austin Surette was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts. Yannick Cottreau had three singles and Miguel Deon had two doubles.

Next Par-en-Bas took on Amherst High and lost 18-4. Miguel Surette had a single and double in this one.

In their third game, Par-en-Bas defeated Eastern Shore 10-3. Vincent Surette was the winning pitcher. Miguel Deon had two singles and Hayden Young had a triple.

In the championship game – a 5-2 loss to Amherst – Dyson Fevens and Gavin O’Connell each singled. Miguel Surette took the loss.

The provincials were held the weekend of Oct. 13, a week after Par-en-Bas won the western regional title in Yarmouth.

This year was the first time Par-en-Bas had advanced to provincials in baseball.
