École secondaire de Par-en-Bas of Tusket, Yarmouth County, earned silver medals at the tier 1 junior girls volleyball regionals held at Bluenose Academy on Nov. 28, losing to the host team in the championship game.

The top six teams from the western region took part in the one-day tournament.

Par-en-Bas placed first in their pool by defeating Clare 25-11, 26-24 and Horton 25-16, 25-20.

They then faced Digby in the crossovers and came on top 25-13, 25-21 to earn a spot in the championship, where they fell short to Bluenose Academy, losing in two sets to get silver.

The regionals capped off a season in which the Par-en-Bas junior girls won gold in their home tournament and also at the Digby tournament.

The team was coached by Andrea Doucette, assisted by Chase DeViller and Kelsey Boyd.
