Cape Breton Capers' Disipio to be honoured in Ottawa Wednesday

SYDNEY, N.S. — Cape Breton Capers midfielder Ciera Disipio will be honoured Wednesday for being one of the U Sports Top 8 Academic All-Canadian players for the 2018-19 year.

Disipio, who played five years with the Capers women's soccer team, will attend the ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. The event is scheduled to being at 11:30 a.m. Atlantic Time.

The ceremony will be conducted by Assunta Di Lorenzo, Secretary to the Governor General and Herald Chancellor of Canada.

Governor General of Canada Julie Payette usually takes part in the ceremony, however, she will be forced to miss it because of travel to Isreal. She will be attending the Fifth World Holocaust Forum at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre.
