SHELBURNE, N.S. – The Shelburne Regional High School (SRHS) Rebels will be hosting the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation (NSSAF) Division 2 senior girls provincial basketball championships March 1 to 3.

The top eight teams in the province will be competing in the tournament, including the defending Division 2 champion Central Kings Rural High School and this year's NSSAF Western Region winner, West Kings District High School from Auburn. The Metro Region will be represented by Carrefour High in Dartmouth, the Northern Region by Hants East Rural High in Milford Station, and the Highland Region by Breton Education Centre from New Waterford. The remaining two spots are being determined by two qualifiers with New Germany High and Millwood High in one, Amherst High and Glace Bay High in the other.

“This will be a great weekend for all of Shelburne and the surrounding area,” said Sheburne coach John Huskilson. “The motels and cottages will be full and retail outlets busy, as upwards of 250 people arrive for the games. The team asks you to come out and show your support and watch some of the best girl basketball in the province.”
