It was a disappointing visit to Yarmouth for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds who arrived amid sunny skies on Tuesday afternoon and left amid sunny skies on Thursday morning. It was the part in between that got in the way.

Fog blanketed the harbour on the Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, which was the day the Snowbirds had been slated to (and had approval to) perform over Yarmouth harbour. The weather conditions did not improve in the time needed for the show to go on.

Calling off the show was disappointing for the Snowbirds, the organizers of the local event and for the public who had hoped to see them perform.

The Snowbirds departed Yarmouth shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, headed for Summerside where they will be performing in an airshow. As they left Yarmouth, the Snowbirds flew over the town and the airport to salute the area.

On the Snowbirds' Facebook page they had this message:

"Hope to come back to Yarmouth for another try in the future!"
