Team Nova Scotia defeated Team New Brunswick 39 matches to 31 at the inaugural NB vs NS Tennis Challenge recently held at the Abony Family Tennis Center in Fredericton.

Each province was represented by 24 players: eight masters women and eight masters men, along with eight junior boys.

The NS women won 13 matches to seven; the men prevailed 11-8 and the boys scraped out a 12-11 win.

Team NB won the masters mixed doubles five matches to three. Halifax’s Michael Oxner, Brent Wilkens and Duncan Addison led the junior boys with three match wins each.

Carol d’Entremont (Yarmouth) and Pavel Jockel (Halifax) paced the ladies and mens masters teams with four match wins each. The second edition of the challenge will take place in Halifax in September.
