Mariners edge Ramblers 3-2 in overtime

The Yarmouth Mariners edged the Amherst Ramblers 3-2 in overtime Saturday night in Amherst. Josh Desmond led the Mariners with two goals while Zack Henry added two assists.

Derek Larade (Kevin Reid, Ben MacSwain) opened the scoring at 2:40. Desmond (Colin Campbell, Zack Henry) scored at 8:09 to extend the lead to 2-0. The Ramblers scored in the first and second periods. There was no third period scoring by either team.

In overtime Desmond (Rodney Mahoney, Henry) scored at 1:15 for the win.

Travis Wilkins stopped 49 of 51 shots for the win while Richard Tingley stopped 33 of 36 shots in the loss.
