The Yarmouth Red Cap Restaurant Female Bantam A Mariners captured the silver medal in a female hockey tournament in Antigonish over the Feb. 1-3 weekend.
The Mariners opened their tournament on Feb. 1 with a 2-1 loss to the Antigonish Bulldogs. Scoring was Shayna Heroux (Lauren Goudey).
In their first game on Feb. 2, Yarmouth had a 3-1 win over Pictou Subway Selects Bantam A. Scoring for Yarmouth were Shayna Heroux (Abby Legere), Arielle Doucet (Shayna Heroux), and Laura Legere (Arielle Doucet).
The Bantam Mariners then went on to tie the Colchester Cyclones Bantam AA team 1-1, moving the Mariners into crossovers. Shayna Heroux had the unassisted goal for Yarmouth.
On Feb. 3 the Mariners won their crossover game against Antigonish 5-2 to advance to the championship game. Scoring were Brianne Romain (Arielle Doucet), Arielle Doucet (Laura Legere, Lauren Goudey), Laura Legere (Bryanne Deveau) and Shayna Heroux (unassisted) and Arielle Doucet (unassisted).
In the championship game the Mariners faced the Colchester AA team for a second time in the tournament. Colchester won the gold medal with a 1-0 win, and Yarmouth won the silver.

Yarmouth will be hosting bantam A female provincials in March.
