The Yarmouth Atom AAA Chris Scott Construction Mariners competed in the 3rd annual Ice Sharks Shootout Feb. 15-17 in Lunenburg.
The team went 2-1 in the round robin. Game scores were as follows:
• TASA Ducks 6 – Yarmouth 2
• Yarmouth 4 – Antigonish Bulldogs 2
• Yarmouth 3 – Bedford Blues 1
This record had Yarmouth entering the playoff round of the tournament as the number three seed, having to play a very strong TASA Ducks team once again in the quarter-finals. TASA won the game 6-3 and went on to beat Bedford in the Championship game.
As of Feb. 17 the Yarmouth Atom AAA Chris Scott Construction Mariners were in second place in the Nova Scotia Mainland Atom AAA league with one weekend of games remaining before the league championship and provincial qualifier tournament, which will be played March 1-3 in Kingston.
