A small group of volunteers along with a new local business and the support of the Town of Yarmouth and the Yarmouth & Acadian Shores Tourism Association (YASTA) are launching the downtown passport for the month of March.

In a media release announcing the passport, it it stated that the intention of the passport is to encourage locals and visitors to shop and dine in the downtown area.

People can pick up a passport at any one of the partner locations and then visit all of the other partner locations, collecting signature along the way. Once the passport has been completed it can be dropped off at the Yarmouth Library for a chance to win prizes that have been provided by the partner locations.

“Creating a year round destination is an important thing to work on in the region and this is one thing we are trying this year that we can hopefully expand on in the future,” says Rick Allwright of YASTA.

A website has also been created in conjunction with the initiative: www.yarmouthpassport.com

You can also download a passport from the website.

The partner locations include:

Aspire Esthetics, Gale’s Eatery, Every Bloomin’ Thing, KJR Jewllery, Sandy’s Gifts, Rudders Seafood Restaurant, Wooden Buoy Antiques, The Style Merchant of Hawthorne St., SIP Cafe Yarmouth, Yarmouth Library, Yarmouth Natural Foods, Steampunk’d Salon & Gallery, City Drug Store, Ceramic Village, Mern’s Dinner, Take a ride the NEW Yarmouth Bus.
