SHELBURNE and DIGBY, N.S. – Two emergency departments at hospitals in the region are seeing closures over the June 15-18 timeframe.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority is advising the public that the emergency department at Roseway Hospital Shelburne, will be closed Friday, June 15, at 6:00 p.m. and will reopen Saturday, June 16, at 8:00 a.m.
On Sunday, June 17, it will closed at 6:00 a.m. and will reopen Monday, June 18, at 8:00 a.m.
This is due to a lack of physician availability.
The emergency department at the Digby General Hospital will be closed Sunday, June 17 at 8 a.m. and will reopen on Monday, June 18 at 8 a.m. This is due to physician unavailability.
The Digby hospital's emergency department also had to close unexpectedly Friday morning due to the unexpected unavailability of a physician. The department closed at 8 a.m. on June 15 and was to reopen at 8 p.m. that same day.
The health authority says hose experiencing a medical emergency should call 911. General health concerns can be directed to 811, where health advice and information are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by registered nurses.
