HANTSPORT, N.S. — Home team onlookers were pleased with the Hantsport Shamrock’s performance during their first two games of the season on May 21.

The Shamrocks defeated the Pictou County Albions 5-3 in the first game and then 11-6 during the second.

Shamrocks head coach Adrian Lloy said he was pleased with how the season started.

“We’re still a fairly young team with some new pieces but it’s a very encouraging start to the season,” Lloy said.

Tim Clayton pitched four innings in the second game, with Eric Such finishing off the remaining three innings to help with the win, Lloy said.

“It was a team effort on offence; we still have a lot to work on,” he said. “We’re a young team, had a lot of growing pains last year, but we’re just going to keep trying to improve.”

Lloy said he was happy to see so many people come out for their home opener and hopes that the people of Hantsport continue to support the team.
