Rugby academy programs offered in Halifax, Wolfville

HALIFAX - Rugby Nova Scotia is offering training programs in Wolfville and Halifax beginning in January, with plans to expand to other parts of the province in coming months.

The second edition of the Keltics Academy is scheduled to start Jan. 13 and run for 16 weeks. Interested male and female players between the ages of 15 and 22 are invited to apply for the sessions. Two gym sessions a week, plus additional skills sessions, a kit, workout program, testing, training physiology and a Level 1 referee course are included in the $170 fee.

Deadline for applications is Jan. 3, 2015. 

Rugby Nova Scotia says it hopes to extend the program to Yarmouth, Antigonish and Cape Breton in the future.
