U18 girls win bronze at soccer provincials. The Yarmouth Clippers U18 girls’ soccer team won the bronze medal at provincials in Sydney.

Yarmouth was edged out by Cole Harbour in its first match 2-1 (Cole Harbour scored the winning goal with just over a minute left in the same). Yarmouth won its second game over Amherst 2-1. Yarmouth then shut out Riverview, Cape Breton 9-0.

Had Cole Harbour lost to Amherst the Yarmouth team would have played for gold. Instead Cole Harbour defeated Amherst 1-0, meaning Yarmouth played for bronze.

Yarmouth defeated Halifax 3-2 in a shootout for the bronze medal victory.
